FRCS is observing Flag Day on Wednesday, June 14th!

America’s Flag Day marks the Second Continental Congress’s adoption of the first U.S. national flag on June 14, 1777. The first flag featured the same 13 red and white stripes we see today. However, the number and arrangement of stars have changed as the number of states has increased over the centuries. The current flag has remained the same since 1960.

In observance of Flag Day, we will have a K-12 optional dress down day on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. On this day, we invite you to dress down in colors, images and/or messages that reflect the American Flag. We encourage you to take the opportunity on Flag Day to sport stars, stripes, red, white, and blue and the American Flag to celebrate your patriotism.

We recognize that June 12, 2023 - Jun 16, 2023 is spirit week for our elementary school students; therefore, students and families should feel free to choose from the following dress down themes (1) Dress in ES spirit day theme/colors (2) Dress in Flag Day spirit day theme/colors or (3) Dress in both!

As a reminder, student and staff participation in dress down spirit days is optional.
