Poetry Out Loud is a partnership between the NationalEndowment for the Arts and
the Poetry Foundation. The program encourages the study of great poetry by offering educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools students across the country. Poetry Out Loud gives students an amazing opportunity to master public speaking skills and learn about their literary heritage. Over the past 12 years, Poetry Out Loud has reached more than 3 million students and 45,000 teachers from 10,000 schools nationwide. It’s an opportunity you won’t want to miss out on! More information is available at poetryoutloud.org.

How can I get involved?
To compete, a student must be in grades 9-12, and they must connect with Mrs. Ells in room 220 for more information..
To judge the competition, adult member of the FRCS community must email Mrs. Ells at [email protected] to receive more information, and they must be available on January 14th from 5:30-8pm.
To enjoy an evening of poetry, simply come to the cafetorium at 6pm on January 14th! Special consideration should be taken if you decide to bring small children because a quiet environment helps the competitors.
