Summer Learning Goals

Worried about Student Summer Learning Loss? FRCS Middle School teachers have something for you!

Summer Learning Loss is a term referencing the knowledge and skills “lost” over summer vacation when students are no longer being exposed to educational content and practice every day. To combat this phenomenon, the FRCS Middle School teachers have created Summer Learning Goals to provide families and students with ideas and resources to maintain and expand their education independently. Students can feel confident about being ready for the next school year!

This guide is also a great resource for newly enrolled students and families to ensure that they are prepared for transitioning to a new grade and a new school.

Please keep in mind that these are recommendations and not requirements. We also encourage you to check out your local library to see the available programs, events, and activities for the summer!

This is not an official “summer school” program. For concerns related to summer school and retention, please contact the Middle School Main Office at 508-542-2508 x200.
