Dear FRCS Families,

I hope you have all been enjoying a wonderful summer break! I have been in my new role as Executive Director of the FRCS district here for just about a month and wanted to share some important updates from around our school district. I am thrilled to be here and I am excited about all of the plans and improvements we are making for the coming school year.

Over the past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of meeting many dedicated staff members and am witnessing firsthand the incredible work being done to support our community. I am working closely with the district’s Executive Leadership Team, as well as our school principals, to establish goals for this exciting next chapter for FRCS. The commitment and passion of our team have truly inspired me, and I am confident that together, we will continue to create a nurturing and enriching environment, while continuing to improve and develop the quality education that we are providing your students.

I am pleased to announce an improved school leadership structure aimed at optimizing efficiency and empowering our school communities. Starting this year, each FRCS school (elementary, middle and high school) will be led by one principal supported by two assistant principals, who will focus on supporting the high academic standards of our faculty and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.

Elementary School
  • Principal: Nicole Ouimet
  • Assistant Principals: Rebecca Austin, Melissa Costa
Middle School
  • Principal: Alisa Diakite
  • Assistant Principals: Scott Johnson, Desiree Meristil
High School
  • Principal: Bridget Lemieux
  • Assistant Principals: Alan Dias Martin, Elizabeth Pavao

Please expect to hear from your child’s building principal in the coming weeks with information welcoming them back to school.

Additionally this summer, we have added a number of highly qualified educators to our team. These exceptional professionals bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their roles as teachers and role models. Their expertise will greatly enhance our academic programs, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education.

The FRCS facilities team has been diligently overseeing, and completing several significant projects on campus aimed at enhancing and beautifying our school. I am pleased to report that the replacement of the elementary school roof is progressing on schedule, as is the project to install new flooring on the first floor of the building. Meanwhile, over at the Middle School, classrooms and hallways are getting a makeover with a fresh coat of paint. This transformation will breathe new life into our middle school space, making everything look clean, vibrant, and inviting.

I firmly believe that the most important aspect of my role as Executive Director of FRCS is to listen to and learn from our community, including our students and their families. As the summer progresses, I am excited to connect with FRCS families and get to know you better. To facilitate this, I have scheduled three informal meet-and-greet events in August. These gatherings will offer a chance to say hello and engage in meaningful conversations, where I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I also want to learn from you more about FRCS, what makes our schools great places to learn, and how we can improve and grow.
  • Tuesday, August 6th, 9am-10am: Elementary School Playground
**Due to the ongoing construction on campus, please park at the middle/high school (131 Central St.) and walk down the hill to the playground. Thank you!**
  • Wednesday, August 14th, 8am-9am, Outside the Middle School (Door I) Happening ahead of our New K-4 families craft hour. Rain plan: Middle School Media Center (Door I)
  • Thursday, August 15th, 6pm-7pm, Meeting Room at the Brockton Public Library, West Branch, 540 Forest Ave., Brockton MA 02301.
All K-12 families are welcome to attend any of these three sessions. Please know that there will be additional opportunities to meet and greet after the school year begins. You can also reach out to me via email  with any questions that you may have.

Our district’s commitment to creating a welcoming community for all our families is something that deeply resonates with me. I am excited to build on this foundation and work collaboratively with you, our families, as well as our dedicated staff and our talented students, to ensure that FRCS continues to be a place where every family feels welcome and respected and each child feels seen and valued.

Sincerely,

Toby N. Romer
