FRCS is excited to welcome Brooke Rennie to our school community! She has only been at FRCS for a few weeks, but she's already making a big difference in the lives of our Middle School Students!
Brooke is the Middle School English Instructional Coach. Her role is to partner with Humanities teachers in order to:
Collaboratively analyze student data in order to plan reading and writing lessons that meet the individual needs of FRCS students.
Revise and develop reading and writing curriculum that incorporates best practices in literacy instruction.
Observe and provide feedback on daily reading and writing lessons.
Brooke is originally from Houston, Texas. She started her teaching career in Washington, D.C. where she earned a dual masters in General and Special Education from Lesley University through a teacher training program called Urban Teachers. In 2013, she moved to Rhode Island where she taught 8th grade English in Central Falls and later worked as a Reading Specialist in Providence. She's currently working on her third masters in literacy at Providence College and will graduate in May.
Brooke loves reading for fun and is currently enjoying young adult author Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows series. She lives in East Providence, RI with her husband and three year old son, Hayden.
From Brooke:"Even though I’ve only been here for two weeks, I’ve received an outpouring of support and kindness as I learn how to navigate a new school. Thank you for welcoming me to the FRCS community!"
