Students Entering Grades 3, 4, and 5: You are invited to Join the Beginner Orchestra Program!

Students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade can register NOW to participate in our orchestra in the Fall!
Please read the message from our FRCS orchestra director, Mr. Misha Grandel. Please contact him via email with any questions about our program.

Dear Families,

My name is Mr. Misha Grandel. I am the orchestra director at the FRCS. I would like to encourage parents to consider their children learning a musical instrument and to join our orchestra program. During these uncertain times, I think it is even more important for children to learn to play a musical instrument and to expose ourselves to beauty of music and arts.

Students in Third, Fourth and Fifth grade can join our beginner orchestra.

The fall schedule will be the following:

Mondays and Thursdays
2:45 p.m. 3:30 p.m. Beginner Band and Pianos
3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Beginner String Orchestra, Guitars

Please return the form to me via email.

Our after-school orchestra program is free of charge, however, students are required to take private lessons. I believe the best way to prepare a child to play an instrument properly is to provide them with private lessons with a professional music instructor. I can provide a list of recommended local music teachers. Some are offering private lessons in our after-school music program at FRCS (currently via zoom). The private lessons are typically $30 per half hour on a weekly basis. If you need an instrument, I can recommend a place to purchase or rent one locally.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Be sure to spread the word and let other FRCS families know about our orchestra program!

Also, be sure to check out these videos from the previous FRCS showcases including percussion, brass and string instruments. These can help your children to decide if they are interested in learning to play an instrument.
