FRCS Board of Trustees Committees

Share your voice! The Board of Trustees is seeking FRCS community members who are interested in joining a Board Committee. The Board is looking to add new representatives made up of current FRCS staff, parents, and students - to volunteer and share their input during these important committee meetings this school year.

Who's Eligible?

 

Staff, Parent/Guardian

  • Staff must be an active employee at FRCS. 
  • Parents/Guardian must have a child currently enrolled as a student at FRCS and complete a CORI check. 
  • If a candidate falls under 2 categories (Staff & Parent) they will be categorized as a staff member. 

Student Representation 

  • Shall be enrolled in grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 at FRCS for the school year that they are applying to be on the Committee.  This allows 8th grade graduates to join for their 9th grade year during the summer.  
  • Meet the requirements for participation in extracurricular activities as defined in the student handbook.  

All

  • May serve multiple years but need to apply each year
  • May join one committee
  • Family members cannot be on the same Committee. 
  • Will reply to an offer to join a committee within one week of receiving it.
 
 
 
Participation
 
FRCS Board of Trustees Committee members will:
 
  • Participate in healthy conversations
  • Act professionally 
  • Suggest topics for upcoming meetings to the Chair, V-Chair and/or Clerk.
  • Be on time for meetings. Meetings will start as soon as the quorum is together. Recapping is not always possible.
  • Attend/plan at least 80% of meetings/activities to stay in good standing
  • Send an update to the Board of Trustees one week prior to their meeting.  Updates will be in PDF format.
  • Add members if an opening occurs during the school year.
  • Serve for a school year ending in June
  • Meet at least three times per school year some committees monthly. 
  • Hold additional meetings as needed
  • Proposed changes to policies within committee scope
