In-Person Learning Expectations
Middle School
Please note: This chart may be updated to include new information and expectations.

Important: Families are expected to monitor themselves and students at home.

Any signs of illness or exposure to COVID in the home please keep your student home and consult the nurse for further instructions. Please do not send a sick student to school! 


COVID Screening
·        Families are required to complete the COVID Screening Tool every morning prior to entering the building
·        This does not apply to those learning from home
·        This is a Department of Health requirement for contact tracing


 Drop Off/Arrival

·    Families dropping students off should use the designated drop off lanes outside Door E.
·        Only students should exit the vehicle, adults should remain in the vehicle
·        Students will not be able to enter the building until 7:25 AM each morning
·        Students will enter the classroom at 7:30 and may eat breakfast when they arrive to their homeroom, with permission from the teacher who will ensure students who are eating are 6 feet apart.
·        students will sanitize or wash hands prior to eating
·        Area will be sanitized prior to and after eating


Chrome Book Expectations

·        Students are expected to arrive at school with their fully charged Chrome Book every day.
·        Chrome Books should be plugged in and charged overnight each day.
·        Students should not bring their charging cord to school as they may get damaged or lost.



·        One student per classroom out at any time
·        Students use hand sanitizer upon entering the classroom after using the restroom


·        Peanut/tree nut free snacks only per our Safe Snack List
·        Students may remove masks for snack time
·        Students will sanitize or wash hands prior to and after eating
·        Area will be sanitized prior to and after eating



·        Fifth grade students will have recess with their class only
·        There are designated areas for each class
·        Students use hand sanitizer when going out to recess and again before entering the building



·        Lunch is in the classroom, café, and gym to allow for 6 feet of distance between students during meals, peanut/tree nut free foods only
·        Same mask and cleaning protocol as breakfast/snack time


Teaching and Learning

·        Teaching will be live streamed from your child’s classroom
·        Students learning from home will log on at 7:40 AM each day
·        Student schedules will remain the same
·        Expectations for attendance remain the same
·        Additional check-in times for 100% remote students will be offered and communicated by the classroom teacher
·        Students who are at school will not be physically moving classrooms, except for when they have Spanish, Art, and Computers.  For all other classes students will remain in their homeroom and teachers will rotate to those classrooms.



·        Except for Physical Education, all specials will be live streamed for students at home
·        Students learning from home on their designated PE day will have posted assignments on Google Classroom.
·        In-person PE class will be held outdoors unless the weather conditions do not allow it, in which case the class will meet in the Gym and will be physically distanced.




·        Students will be called by groups to exit classrooms and board the bus
·        This process will begin at 2:35


Individuals and Carpools:

·        Individual pickups and Carpool student will be dismissed by grade level at 2:45 they will be accompanied by a staff member.  Students must remain with a staff member as they wait for their ride, the Pit and Playground will not be accessible during dismissals.
·        Middle School students will not be able to walk to the elementary school during dismissals
·        Students need to be picked up by 3:15 every afternoon


Mask Breaks

·        All students are required to wear a face covering while at school
·        Students will have mask breaks at minimum during snack, lunch, recess, and flex time.
·        Teachers may have additional breaks when time allows in the schedule


·        Hallways are clearly marked to keep students physically distanced during any transitions.
