All Students Must Receive a Flu Shot by December 31st

Over the summer, state public health officials announced that all students attending school in Massachusetts must receive a flu shot. All students in grade K-12 must receive the seasonal influenza vaccine annually by December 31 unless either a medical or religious exemption is provided. The immunization is required for students participating in any and all models of our learning plans.

Where Can I Have my Child Immunized?

Check with your PCP about having your child receive the flu shot during an office visit. You can also check with your local board of health about any upcoming flu shot clinics. Many Urgent Care clinics also offer flu shots.

Additionally, pharmacies and stores like CVS, Walgreens, and Stop and Shop, offer flu shots that are free under almost all insurance plans. There are many of these locations in our sending district.

You can use VaccineFinder to find a flu shot location that’s convenient for you.

Please contact Nurse Leader Cathy Alix with any questions.
