Given the increased levels of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) detected this year from state-wide mosquito surveys, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources announced that an aerial pesticide application will be taking place. This aimed at reducing mosquito populations to limit the incidence and spread of EEE infection.
