Safe Spaces

FRCS is committed to providing a safe environment in which all students can learn and achieve.  The term “safe spaces” often refers specifically to programs, resources, locations, and staff who support students who identify as GLBT ( http://www.mass.gov/cgly/youth.htm).  All students need safe places where they can be assured of confidentiality (with the exception of  personal safety risks) and where their perspectives, questions, feelings, and thoughts can be expressed and heard.   At our school, staff whose offices are available as safe spaces are the school nurses, adjustment counselors, guidance/school counselors, school psychologist, and the Director of Students and Families.
