Peer Mentoring
Peer mentoring at Foxborough Regional Charter School is a K-12 program that offers social and emotional support to students. The goal of the program is simple: to build community by forming relationships.
Relationships help students feel connected, accepted and involved in the community. These social interactions help break down barriers, celebrate diversity and set the tone for acceptable behavior in our school.
Mentors meet with their "buddy" weekly and work on small goal oriented projects that build self esteem, confidence and social skills.
Mentoring assigments are coordinated through the Student Life office. Teachers, parents and students may request a peer mentor by contacting Mrs. Droste at X519 or by email at jdroste@foxboroughrcs.org.
Peer Tutoring
The peer tutor program is an academic support service run by the Student Life office. It offers short or long term support for students through individual tutoring sessions and/or small group settings. It is designed to help students develop skills and fill gaps so they can be successful in the classroom.
Tutoring sessions provide additional opportunities for guided practice and reinforcement of key concepts as well as:
- focus on the needs of individual students in a one-on one or small group setting
- provide support over an extended period of time, and
- build confidence through working with a positive role model
Tutoring is assigned on a first-come- first served basis. Teachers, parents and students may request a peer mentor by contacting Mrs. Droste at X519 or by email at jdroste@foxboroughrcs.org.
