Lion's Club Annual Speech Contest - First Runner Up
Congratulations to senior, James Cosby, who earned 2nd place in the Annual Lions Club Speech Contest. The competition included 4 students representing all the area high schools. James earned first runner up, beating out students representatives from both Bishop Feehan and Foxborough High School.

NEMA Competition - Apponequet High School
Congratulations to the Foxborough Regional Charter School Twirlers who placed 2nd in the NEMA Competition on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Apponequet High School. The B Squad consists of Jackie McDermott, Victoria Marcello, Ashley Peterson, Angela Servello and Cosette Harris. The novice team had a wonderful showing also. Great job girls!!!

Congratulations to Shannon Holley for her first place finish in the Second Annual Geography Bee!
It all came down to “South Carolina” in the school’s 2nd annual National Geographic Bee held January 3rd. Shannon Holley’s correct answer in the final round against fellow 5th grader, Daniel Sprague, won her the school championship with a prize of $50 and a chance to compete in the state Bee in March. This year’s competition was moderated by Barbara Cauchon and included twenty students from grades 4 – 7. The Bee tested students’ knowledge of U.S. geography, the continents, world capitals and cultural geography. Congratulations to all students who competed and best of luck to Shannon as she takes a written exam next week to continue in the competition!

Seventeen students in grades 4 – 8 participated in the 3rd annual F.R.C.S. National Geographic Bee held last Friday. After seven rounds of questions, two students emerged with perfect scores to compete in the Championship Round: Divya Odayappan, 4th grade and Shannon Holley, 6th grade. Shannon correctly answered the question: Name the independent country located entirely within the city of Rome. The answer, Vatican City, won her a prize of $50 and a chance to compete in the state-level competition. Best of luck to Shannon as she takes the written exam to qualify for the next round!

Class of 2007 - Edward Sullivan has been recognized as an Advanced Placement Scholar for his scores of 3 or higher on 3 AP tests.
Class of 2008 - Greg Byron has received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program for his test score on the PSAT
