Project Complete
Construction began on June 24th, 2010 to prepare the land on Route 140, adjacent to our front entrance, for a temporary modular building which housed our high school students for 18 months. During that time, construction was underway to enlarge the existing high school building section on the ground level as well as adding a second floor to that brick structure. The end result provided the school (27) new classrooms that replaced the modular buildings, a new administrative and programming area, and a new double gymnasium.
The project also included a major renovation of the auditorium in the main building into a new media center; as well as a major renovation of the cafeteria/gym in the main building into a new state of the art cafeteria with a separate music/stage/performance area.
Fulfilling this mission was no easy task. It required an extensive commitment of time, energy and financial resources that far surpassed the funding we received from the state. We depended on the proceeds from a mix of fundraising activities such as our Annual FRCS Golf Tournament, 5K/10K Road Race to support this project.
Students, staff, family and friends of the FRCS community celebrated the official opening of the completed project with a January 2012 ribbon cutting ceremony; the south wing officially opened, is occupied and in use.
Outdoor Health, Fitness and Wellness Complex Complete
In the late fall of 2012 our Outdoor Health, Fitness and Wellness Complex was completed, opened for public use and received rave reviews by students in Grades K-5!
Future fundraising events will continue to benefit health and wellness programs for K-12 students at the Foxborough Regional Charter School. Health and wellness programs include Physical Education curriculum, Health curriculum, playground facilities and equipment, recreational after school programming and additional innovative programs that support well-being; Healthy bodies * Healthy Minds.
