Project Greenhouse Update
The FRCS Greenhouse has sprouted!! Mrs. Gimler and her Grade 4 students along with Ms. Costa and her Kindergarten crew have combined on the first joint planting project for sunflowers and pea plants. Grade 4 students “supervised” the Kindergarten students as they scooped, measured, filled, planted, labeled, and watered.
Students will take mini-field trips to the greenhouse to check progress and see which class has the “green thumb”! Check out their progress below….

6th Grade Career Fair
The Grade 6 Career Fair will take place on Friday, May 18, 2012. Parents and FRCS staff will discuss their jobs and career progression. Presenters will be emphasizing how important education is to prepare for careers and that many jobs require continued training. Students have been assigned a short research project watching a variety of career videos. The will also complete a questionnaire about the presentations and the best two from each homeroom will get a “working” lunch (pizza) with FRCS staff!
Senior Independent Enrichment Project Fair
The Senior Independent Enrichment Fair will be on Thursday, May 24 in the new Media Center. Seniors will present their projects and students in grades 9-11 will have the opportunity to visit the Fair to see senior project displays. This year projects included pediatric physical therapy, law, criminal psychology, nursing, and three students who prepared themselves for Advanced Placement exams for courses not offered at FRCS. Parking Lot Safety – Please Drive Safely and Model Respectful Behavior
The safety of students, staff and parents is a top priority. Please remember in our parking lot to:
- Drive at the posted speed limit while on school property
- Yield to pedestrians and cars that are trying to park;
- Refrain from using electronic devices that may distract your attention
- Bus lanes are for buses only at all times
The safety of our students, staff and visitors is our top priority, especially during our busy drop off and pick up times. Thank you to all the parents who have been so respectful and careful driving on our campus. Please take special care when traveling on campus. In addition, please note:
- NO double parking is allowed. Please arrive at the appropriate drop-off & pick-up times and park in the designated parking areas.
- School personnel will cross students safely in crosswalks in the parking lot. Please do not summon your child(ren) to your car via cell phone as they are not safely crossing the parking lot
